Black swamp snakes (Seminatrix pygaea) are a Coastal Plain species found in shallow wetlands from North Carolina to Alabama. The images in this gallery are of the North Florida subspecies (S. p. pygaea) that ranges from Alabama to Coastal Georgia and into Central Florida.
