Eastern coachwhip coloration is variable across its range; however, there is always a gradient of dark to light from the head to the tail. The individual in this photo is from North Florida and exhibits a common coloration seen throughout the range of this species. However, in some regions, such as SW Georgia, individuals are almost all tan with very little color variation from head to tail.
